Historical Notes

The Kootenay Kanines are an ever evolving group of local agility enthusiasts who come together annually to organize and run our "Do It For The Dogs" charity trial. Regardless of whomever the actual organizing committee consists of in any given year, there is no way this trial could happen without the generous help and support of the rest of our crowd. Our first trial was a 2 ring extravaganza in July 2008 at Birchbank Campground. This first event was the brainchild of Margaret Smithson and Jeanne Shaw. Since then we have moved down to one ring [it's just easier to organize and fill] and in 2011 changed sites due to a scheduling conflict. We are proud and somewhat amazed to continue to have enough local people help out to keep holding this event!
