Welcome to Our Yard!

Money Raised To Date

We want to send out a huge Kootenay Kanines THANK YOU to everyone who joined us for our third annual trial. We appreciate your support tremendously: it allows us to pass on some timely donations to our two local SPCA branches.

In case you haven't been reminiscing like we have about the weekend, let’s take a trip down memory lane, shall we, and relive some of the glorious -- and not so glamorous -- moments.

First, a cheer to all our dogs! They are the reason we take a day or two off work, drive across hill and dale, and have a blast sharing it all with them. Dax receives the prize for the absolute trial topper of all time. Check out the picture of her and the pigeon. Oh, if we only had the whole thing on video, the money we could have made!

Next, the amazing courses. Tricky little judges, weren't they? How can a few jumps, a tunnel or two, and a piece of contact equipment be so difficult to negotiate? A big round of applause to our two generous judges, Jeanne Shaw and Linda Murray, who donated their fees.

So how fast can a scorekeeper keep if a scorekeeper keeps all the scores? Very fast apparently- thanks to Monica for letting us know in a timely fashion that while it is lovely to Q, not all of us are destined to get this prize. Oh well, you learn a lot from seeing your times and opening gamble points (uh huh).

Then we went from dog walk to the cat walk.... Where else do you get a Queen, two hunters (one with bows in the dog’s hair, no less), a glass of milk with an Oreo, a member of King Arthur's Court, a crone and a social butterfly, all together in one place. Check out the little video clip in the margin to the left if you missed this extravaganza! Never to be seen again!

While we didn't get the money shot for Sports Illustrated on everyone's dog, we trust you will find a little something to enjoy in the photo section. A big thank you to Jessie who tried to get at least one picture of every dog.

And to all our volunteers both near and far, thank you for helping us bring this puppy home! We could never have had such a smooth delivery without you all!

The hardware goes to:

Glenda and Carter SGDC

Kelly and Brec SGDC

And now, the drum roll please.......

We – which means you all -- made $2600 to share between our local SPCA's. That’s a fair pile of kibble
